What this site provides.

AS Applied is published by XPO Engineers. It provides preliminary screening and decision support: pathways, questions, guides, checklists and calculators that help you frame an engineering problem and identify what to investigate next.

By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

What this site is not.

• It does not determine legal or regulatory compliance.
• It does not certify, approve or accept an asset, a design, a repair or continued operation.
• It is not an RPEQ service, a professional engineering opinion for your project, or engineering sign-off.
• It is not legal advice, including on the Professional Engineers Act 2002 (Qld) or on plant registration duties.
• It does not reproduce Australian Standards. You still need the current edition of any standard referenced.
• It is not an inspection report, a fitness-for-service assessment or a lifting approval.

Confirm the basis before you act.

Every output depends on what you enter and on the condition of the actual asset. Before relying on any result you must confirm the current standard edition and amendments, the applicable jurisdiction and law, the contract and specification, OEM requirements, the original design basis, and the real condition of the plant.

A competent person must review any screening outcome before it informs a decision about safety, capacity, continued operation or compliance. Where the outcome depends on professional judgement, engage an appropriately registered engineer.

Screening calculations are simplified by design.

Each calculator applies a limited relationship and states on the page what it does not check. They are not design tools and no result should be treated as a design check, a capacity rating or a verification.

Downloaded PDF records are a record of a screening result at a point in time. They are not certification and carry no engineering authority.

Automated screening has known limits.

The document pre-check uses an AI model to look for defined checklist items in a document you upload. It can miss items that are present and can flag items that are not. Every finding is an observation to verify, not a conclusion.

Only upload material you are entitled to share with a third-party processor. You are responsible for confirming that before uploading.

Accuracy, currency and changes.

We work to keep content accurate and current, but standards, regulations and regulator guidance change. Content may be out of date between reviews, and we give no warranty that it is complete, current or fit for a particular purpose.

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time. Content and code on this site remain our property or that of our licensors, except where a third-party standard or source is identified.

The limits on our responsibility.

Nothing in these terms excludes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the free screening content, checklists or calculators on this site, including consequential loss, loss of production or loss of profit.

Paid engineering work is separate. It is carried out under its own written scope and engagement terms, and this clause does not limit obligations under that engagement.

This clause needs a lawyer to settle before launch. It is drafted here to describe the intended position, not as final wording.

Jurisdiction.

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
